An innovative clock radio and speaker system for your iPhone or iPod. Click to enlarge.

Reson8 ported speakers and SRS WOW technology for big sound in a small package.

Remote control included.

Play and Charge Your iPod/iPhone
The iP97 features a Universal dock for iPhone, with inserts to fit docking iPod models as well. Enjoy your tunes or use the alarm while your device charges. When you're ready to go, your iPod/iPhone will be too.

AM/FM Radio
Enjoy your favorite AM/FM programming, with quick access to preset stations.

Full-Featured Alarm Clock
The iP97 allows you to wake or sleep to iPhone, iPod, playlist, AM/FM radio or--if you still insist with all these options--buzzer. The dual alarm clock with 7-5-2 alarm settings mean you can set separate wake times for full weeks, weekdays, and weekends. A programmable snooze lets you determine how much more sleep to allow yourself each time you hit it.

Both the alarm and sleep volumes are gently increased and decreased, respectively, so as not to startle the user.

A convenient DST switch allows for quick daylight-savings time adjustment when it's time to "spring forward" or "fall back."

Simple Operation
The iP97 is a breeze to use, and boasts an extra-large, backlit custom LCD Display with dimmer for adjusting to your liking, and backlit buttons for visibility even in the dark.

Big Sound, Small Package
The iP97 delivers powerful audio with just six watts stereo thanks to its specially designed Reson8 speaker chambers.

Reson8 is iHome's through-body ported speaker chamber technology. Porting speakers gives better bass response characteristics, and helps the iP9BR deliver sound beyond its size.

SRS WOW technology provides additional depth to your music, restoring some of what's lost in compressed digital audio formats.

Auxiliary Input
Use the iP97's auxiliary line-in jack to connect external MP3 players, CD players, and other audio devices.

Remote Included
Use the included remote to control iP97 features from across the room.

Works for me!

Review Date: December 27, 2009
Reviewer: syswalla,
My wife gave this to me for Christmas and both of us are impressed. I do want to mention that since it was a Christmas present I have only used it briefly. First impressions are important, and the packaging shows thought and care. Everything was carefully taped into place with sufficient shock absorbing material. The instructions are thorough enough to get you going. It even came with the backup batteries already installed

Once plugged in, I set the clock to my time zone and due to the backup batteries the time was actually correct. I then inserted my 2nd gen Nano and it played just fine so I'm not sure what problem the previous poster was experiencing. By adjusting the sound to 3D and maximum bass it sounds pretty good for a desktop device. Sure, it lacks the bass I expect from a home stereo, but it's definitely the best sounding alarm clock I've ever heard. For most people it would also sound fine as a kitchen or office sound system.

In my opinion this seems to be an above average piece of consumer electronics in build and thoughtfulness. This product would be particularly useful for those who keep their iPhone nearby at all times. One of the features I was most impressed with is the number of dimmer settings; from bright to off there are eight different levels so you can select the one that's just right. As a first impression I can recommend this product.
Nice alarm clock for the price.

Got this for my wife for Christmas and it has been a nice clock radio. We don't really play iPod music through it (although you can), and the sound quality was a lot better than expected. Our favorite part is just having a handy charger for my wife's iPhone and the kids iPods. Light is not too bright and not too dim with nice clear numbers on the display. Price through Amazon was great.
Great Radio

Without a doubt the iP97 is the best clock radio I have ever owned. It's a great buy for iPhone/iPod owners and for anyone just looking for a well designed, easy to use unit.
Best clock radio alarm I've ever owned

I purchased this iHome unit about a month ago and have been completely satisfied with it. The sound quality is more than satisfactory for a clock radio, though certainly not high fidelity. The controls are easy to understand and the instruction book is clear. It was much easier to set up and adjust this clock radio than my previous Sony. There are several things I do NOT like, however. First, the wheels on the top of the unit (used to adjust time, etc) are very stylish, but hard to use. I found that dampening the tip of my finger helped a lot, but this seems a bit unsanitary. Also, when setting up the clock, it is supposed to find the time zone on its own, but it could not. I had to select the time manually. (Not a big deal.) Finally, in order to wake to a playlist, you have to create a playlist called "iHome" and put your songs into it. This seems odd. Why can't I just select any playlist on my iPod and use that? Strange... And when you wake to a playlist and press "Snooze," the playlist does not "pause" as it does on most alarms; it "mutes." This means if you wake to your favorite song and press "Snooze," when the alarm comes on again it will be playing a completely different song. Having the Snooze button "pause" instead of "mute" would be much better. I worked around this problem by putting 20 duplicates of my wake-up song into the iHome playlist, but once again... this is very awkward and strange.

Overall, would I buy this unit again, even if I knew of all these quibbles? The answer is yes.
Great little clock radio

I don't usually write reviews but I am so impressed with this little clock radio that I thought I would share my
opinion of it. I recently got an ipod touch third generation and needed a clock radio so I decided to give this one a try.

For a small clock radio the sound is more than acceptable and I can jack up the volume to listen to it across my house. The ipod docks flawlessly and the remote control is very handy in controlling various functions.

I read about a number of people having problems playing music with their ipod touch version 3.1.2 but as soon as I docked my ipod it immediately starting playing a song and has played them flawlessly.

I also like the flexibility of having a variable brightness and various ways to wake you up (play list, radio, alarm) and being able to set it up to have a different time for the alarm on weekdays and weekends.

For my purposes it could not be better.
